Living off the grid, creating no garbage, and buying nothing but locally grown food would be a challenge no matter where you lived — but it’s conceivable, as Colin Beavan, author of “No Impact Man”, learned during a year he and his family spent in New York City having as little impact as possible on the environment. He spoke recently at UW-La Crosse and also shared his insights with our Newsmakers audience.
