About a year ago, Anthony Wright was about to graduate from Indiana University with a master’s in higher education administration. He wanted to celebrate his accomplishments and the accomplishments of black graduate students everywhere, so he and his friend Brian Allen came up with #blackandhooded. It went viral, and what started as a social media tag grew into a scholarship fund and network for black academics. This hour, we’ll talk to Wright about Blackandhooded, and talk to an expert about why minority students are so underrepresented in graduate studies, particularly STEM fields.
