Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra visits WPR

“Route 51” welcomes the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra’s executive director Mara Prausa and conductors Dr. Patrick Miles and Dr. Andres Moran for a behind-the-scenes look at the symphony and its 70th anniversary season.

This year, the symphony is celebrating its 70th anniversary season, “Legends and Legacies.” One of those legacies honored this year is that of Dr. Patrick Miles, who will be passing on the baton as the CWSO’s music director and conductor over the past 17 years. His final concert, “Maestro’s Farewell,” will conclude the 70th anniversary season on April 13 and 14. Dr. Andres Moran, currently principle horn for the symphony, will assume the music director and conductor role starting in the 2019-2020 season. The CWSO also has a new executive director, Mara Prausa. She joined the symphony this June following the leadership of Ann Huntoon.

Prausa, Miles, and Moran join host Rick Reyer to discuss this year’s transitions in leadership, their work with and vision for the symphony, and the role of classical music in central Wisconsin.
