Clarence King embarks on a grand tour of Europe, supposedly for business. But as soon as he arrives, he spends much of his time “slumming”, frequenting mixed race clubs and hosting parties for prostitutes. His fame garners him reputation and social standing, as he befriends poets, authors, and the Queen of England.
