The University of Miami will soon begin the country’s first college chair for the study of atheism. The donor who funded the position argues that atheists are one of the few minority groups in America to remain excluded from society. This hour we examine the history of atheism and the complexity of nonbelief in America today. We also explore the idea of atheism as an academic subject to be taught in schools.
