Ryan Campaigns in Green Bay

The presidential campaigns are back in high gear after “Superstorm Sandy” ravaged the East Coast.Mitt Romney’s running mate, Paul Ryan, was back in his home state Wednesday for a two day whistle-stop tour.

Congressman Paul Ryan for about 20 minutes before a crowd of more than 600 supporters. They gathered in the warehouse of a direct mail business in Ashwaubenon, just outside Green Bay, “So thinking forward just one week did we do everything we could do? Did we talk to those independents and Democrats we know from our social services, from our Rotaries our Kiwanis?Our friends, our relatives, our neighbors? Did we talk to those people who know we are on the wrong track? Did we talk to those people who wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to something like hope and change but realize it’s not working?”

In person absentee voting is open until Friday in Wisconsin. Ryan urged his supporters to vote early then focus on getting others to the polls.

National polls have shown Romney running almost even to the president. But a newly released Marquette University poll has Obama ahead in Wisconsin by 8 points. Ryan asked the crowd to push the state to dedicate its ten electoral votes to a Republican for the first time since 1984, “As we all know Wisconsin is one of those critical battleground states. We’re one of those states that’s right on the edge. We’ve shown in 2010, then in the summer after 2010, then in the fall then in the last summer–we’ve had a lot of elections here in Wisconsin but we’ve shown we know what leadership looks like.”

President Obama will speak in Green Bay Thursday.Mitt Romney will be in West Allis on Friday.
