Grape-Nuts ice cream is excerpted from the book, "Breakfast Cereal: A Global History" by Kathryn Cornell Dolan. It's been adapted from "Recipes: Highly Nutritious Dishes Easy to Make," Postum Cereal Co. (1922).
Ingredients
1 gallon vanilla ice cream
1 c. Grape Nuts
Instructions
1. Start with prepared vanilla ice cream. Just before the cream congeals in freezing
2. Add dry Grape-Nuts in the proportion of 1 cup to 1 gal of ice cream. This will retain the crispness of the granules, and they will give the cream a highly palatable, nut-like flavor.
