Wisconsin Public Radio will feature a public reading in April of people’s stories about the St. Louis River. The event is coordinated in collaboration with the “One River, Many Stories” project. Wisconsin Public Radio will accept submissions in three categories: fiction, non-fiction and poetry. The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 4. The public reading will be held Wednesday, April 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. at UW-Superior.

The Chequamegon Symphony Orchestra is celebrating 50 years of performing in northwestern Wisconsin this weekend. The group’s season-ending performance will be held this Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Ashland. Danielle Kaeding reports on how the orchestra ties community members and generations together over their shared love of music.
