Around 20 writers read their original works of fiction, nonfiction and poetry as part of the 9th annual “Writers Read” event at Northland College in Ashland on Friday, Jan. 25. The readings will be featured in an upcoming special broadcast in place of Hear Me Out on Friday, Feb. 15, and Friday Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Wisconsin Public Radio stations.

Bayfield Democrat Representative Beth Meyers talked about the governor’s proposal to invest $78 million to expand broadband in the state. Lawmakers from both parties agree more investment is needed, but some republicans are worried about the governor’s plan to pay for it. We heard from Spring Green republican Howard Marklein.
