“It’s been a long and hard campaign cycle,” said Meyers. “There’s been a lot of dark money and dark races in the state of Wisconsin, and I’m very grateful that my race was not part of that and I’m grateful to Jeffrey Fahl for being an honorable opponent.”

Meyers will return to Madison to serve a third term. She said there will be a lot of new faces in the Wisconsin Assembly.

“I look forward to working with my new colleagues on both sides of the aisle,” she said.

Meyers said she will continue to work on quality access to educational opportunities, access to affordable health care, and infrastructure needs related to transportation and cell phone coverage.

Fahl could not be immediately reached for comment on the election results Tuesday evening.
