Willie Ney is the Founding Executive Director of the Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives which houses the First Wave Hip Hop and Urban Arts Scholarship Program, the only one of its kind in a university setting in the US. Celebrating its tenth year this fall of 2015, OMAI offers programs and initiatives that celebrate the positive impact of hip hop culture. OMAI won the WI Governor’s Arts Awards in 2009 and the National Governors Arts Awards in 2010.
