Lloyd S. Pendleton, Director, Homeless Task Force, State of Utah. For more than five years Lloyd has been an advocate for the homeless. In 2004 he took the lead in writing and implementing the State’s Ten-Year Plan for ending chronic homelessness. In 2006 Lloyd was appointed as the Director, Homeless Task Force for the State of Utah to continue the implementation to end chronic homelessness and reduce overall homelessness by 2014. Because of his work with Utah’s homeless population and the agencies that serve them, he was awarded the 2009 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Humanitarianism. He was also a 2009 Purpose Prize Fellow for a second career as a social interpreter which is part of the Encore Careers Campaign.
