A Wisconsin Democratic National Committee member called President Barack Obama’s address to the Democratic National Convention one of the most encouraging speeches of Obama’s tenure in office.
In 2008, Milwaukee labor leader Martha Love endorsed Obama in the Democratic primary. This year, Love is a superdelegate for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee.
Love said Obama’s speech Wednesday night was a powerful moment of unity and togetherness. She also said she was moved to hear Obama talk about Clinton breaking the “glass ceiling.”

“A brilliant man talking about a brilliant woman,” Love said. “I just feel comfort that the future is going to be very, very bright.”
Love, who’s an African American woman, said she feels lucky to have lived long enough to see Obama’s presidency, and hopefully, Clinton’s.
Clinton will speak Thursday evening where she is expected to accept the nomination.
