Governor Jim Doyle introduced a budget last night that avoided deep cuts to state services thanks to billions in federal stimulus money and several targeted tax increases.Doyle called for raising income taxes on Wisconsin’s top earners, and called for another increase in Wisconsin’s tobacco tax.
As Shawn Johnson reports, some state agencies would still feel pinched the next couple years… but they’d be spared more serious pain…
