The Wisconsin Department of Justice has released the names of officers involved in a Superior shooting last week.

Officers George Gothner, Michael Kendall and Christopher Woolery responded to a theft at a Superior business Friday, Oct. 5. The suspect was found nearby in the city’s Central Park neighborhood.

Police and the DOJ say a “confrontation” occurred, and the man was shot multiple times by officers.

The DOJ said in a release that the identity of the 19-year-old man who was shot is not being released because he has not been charged with a crime at this time.

The man is recovering from his injuries and is in stable condition at a hospital in Duluth.

The officers have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation of the shooting.

The investigation is being led by the DOJ in cooperation with the State Patrol, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Superior Police Department.
