Utility crews say they’re ahead of schedule on restoring electricity in the Fox Valley after Wednesday night’s severe weather.
Everyone who lost power should have it restored by tomorrow night, according to We Energies spokesman Brian Manthey, who says 90 percent of its affected customers already have their power back.
“We were able to make excellent progress,” says Manthey. “We had some good weather on Thursday, and because of that we are in pretty good shape heading into the rest of the day Friday. And hopefully we’ll have everybody…back in power by Saturday.”

Mild weather has helped – not only for crews hard at work, but for customers not needing air conditioning.
Five confirmed tornadoes hit the Fox Valley and northeast Wisconsin overnight Wednesday, making it the worst storm the region has seen since at least two years ago.
“The damage and devastation this time around was much more akin to the tornado damage we saw a few years ago in Eagle and other communities,” says Manthey. “We we’ve seen it like this before. I think this is one of the more severe storms that we’ve had to deal with.”
In all, more than 70,000 homes and business had lost power at one point. All Wisconsin Public Service Corporation customers have their power back.
