A new survey estimates that the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is roughly twice the size of Texas, which is anywhere from four to sixteen times larger than previously thought to be. We talk with a researcher on microscopic plastic pollution in oceans and lakes about the state of debris in our water, and what steps are needed to address this issue.
