A suspect in a burglary investigation wounded a Wauwatosa police detective in a Friday morning shootout on Milwaukee’s north side.
During a press conference filmed by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Police Chief Ed Flynn said two plain-clothed Wauwatosa detectives and one uniformed officer confronted the suspect around 9 am. The suspect opened fire, striking a detective while another officer shot back. He then escaped on foot.
Flynn said the area is cordoned off and police from multiple departments are searching for the suspect.
