The cities of Milwaukee and Waukesha signed a 40-year contract allowing the sale of water from Lake Michigan and Milwaukee to the suburb of Waukesha. Waukesha residents have been dealing with radium-contaminated drinking water for years and coordinating water diversion from Lake Michigan to the town required an international agreement. We speak with WPR reporter Chuck Quirmbach to get the latest news.

  • The Iconic Toys Of The 1980s

From swashbuckling space cowboys and cars that turned into robots, to medieval bodybuilders dressed in loin cloths, and talking teddy bears, the 1980s saw a boom that turned toys into a multi-billion dollar industry.

Netflix is releasing a new documentary series that focuses on the history and impact of some of the most iconic and important toy lines, including Star Wars, Barbie, Legos, and others. We hear from the creator of the Netflix series, and talk to a toy expert about what it is that makes a toy a classic.

We’d like to hear from you. Do you have a favorite toy from your childhood? Or maybe you were a kid during the great toy surge of the 80s…what were your favorites?
