Join WPR, the Green Bay Press Gazette and NEW News Lab partners for stories that delve into why "Home is Here."

What began as a project from the NEW News Lab to go beyond census data to tell the stories of the growing number of Black, Asian, Native American and Hispanic residents in the region has evolved into personal essays from five of the series participants. Their stories were captured by Maureen McCollum of Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Wisconsin Life” series.

Join WPR, the Green Bay Press Gazette and NEW News Lab partners on September 20 from 6 to 7 p.m. for live readings of their stories that delve into why “Home is Here.”

A reception with light refreshments will precede the event at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but please register as space is limited.

Six Wisconsin news organizations have partnered to advance in-depth local reporting on topics such as racism as a public health crisis, lack of affordable housing, funding of local schools, or coverage of local judicial systems. The Northeast Wisconsin Journalism Fund awarded grants to the six NEW News Lab participants to support this work.
