The National Weather Service is issuing multiple heat advisories for Friday and Saturday in central and southern Wisconsin. With high temps and high humidity, heat indexes are expected to reach as high as 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
NWS meteorologist Sean Miller says the heat will be dangerous through Saturday. He said air temperatures alone will be extreme, but high humidity will make it worse.
“We’ll have temperatures well into the 90s perhaps even close to 100 in the southwest part of the state and along with that humidity, it’s going to push heat index values above 100 and in some cases even above 110,” said Miller.

Miller said with extreme heat like this people need to take extra care of themselves and others.
“Make sure to stay hydrated, take breaks, don’t over exert yourself and really probably one of the more important ones is to check on other people, particularly folks that are elderly and people who may not have (air conditioning),” Miller said.
The heat will continue through Saturday but Miller said the extended forecast predicts lower temperatures next week.
