Friday is the deadline to vote in-person by absentee ballot in Wisconsin.

Michael Haas, the Elections Division administrator at the Government Accountability Board, said that early voting will end at the close of business tomorrow. Haas said that that time may vary depending on the municipality.

“It’s always best to contact your clerks office ahead of time if you have a question about whether or not the clerk’s office will be open,” he said. “In some cases the municipal clerk conducts absentee voting at their own residence, so it’s always best to check ahead of time.”

Haas said that clerks so far have been reporting strong turnout for early voting in some communities. As of Friday morning, the GAB reported that more 240,300* absentee ballots had been cast in the state. It did note that those are only partial numbers, since not all municipalities report their numbers electronically.

Absentee ballots that are mailed in must be postmarked before or on Election Day.
