Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Preston Cole is assuring business leaders the agency will work to create a consistent regulatory environment.

Cole addressed business leaders at a Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce conference in Madison on Wednesday. He said he wants a consistent, reliable approach to regulating industry and promised to follow science.

He told the audience that if anyone sees anything that needs to be improved and fixed to call him.

Cole also said the top concerns he’s heard since Gov. Tony Evers appointed him are drinking water safety and chronic wasting disease. Evers’ budget calls for $70 million in borrowing to address water pollution but doesn’t address CWD.
