POSITION SUMMARY
Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) is seeking a creative, goal-driven and experienced manager and fundraising professional to lead WPR's On-air Fundraising team.
The On-air Fundraising Manager is responsible for leading the on-air fundraising unit within WPR's Membership team. Primary responsibilities include developing, directing and/or executing multi-channel member drive campaigns, leveraging best practices, and identifying key performance indicators through data analysis to set revenue goals and evaluate results with a particular focus in member cultivation, growth and retention. This position also develops and provides leadership in goal setting, communication, collaboration, marketing materials, schedules, and the creation and execution of overall member drive strategy and associated budget. Reports to the Membership Director.
Unit Overview
The On-air Fundraising team is responsible for WPR's member drive campaigns. Member Drives are the single most effective way to ask WPR listeners for financial support, and the best way to gain new members, new sustainers (monthly donors) and to ask current members to increase or renew their support.
DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION
No degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
MINIMUM YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
-Five years cumulative professional experience in a fundraising, project management or marketing role.
-Three years' professional experience in a supervisory/management role.
-Proven ability to develop, direct, implement and evaluate a campaign, preferably with an associated revenue goal.
-Effective written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to plan strategically with a "big picture" vision while maintaining critical attention to details.
-Success working independently and collaboratively toward mutual goals.
-Proven analytical skills to uncover opportunities and greater efficiencies as they related to strategy, systems, processes and decisions.
-Ability to manage data, processes and/or financial tracking with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
-High degree of skill in technology, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and other software.
NOT REQUIRED BUT DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Experience in or knowledge of public broadcasting.
-Experience in or knowledge of on-air fundraising.
-Experience working with Constituent Relationship Management software.
-Experience in or knowledge of email and/or digital marketing.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Collaborates with colleagues and/or volunteers to advance departmental strategic priorities, creating, leading, and/or overseeing the execution of processes, workflows, and software integration
- Stays current with fundraising trends, best practices, and emerging technologies and trends, using industry and member data to guide strategy. Identifies key performance indicators, analyzes information to set revenue goals, and evaluates results
- Develops, plans, implements, and/or oversees multi-departmental, multi-channel, direct-response fundraising initiatives including strategy, goal setting, communication, collaboration, marketing materials, and scheduling
- Secures and/or collaborates with external vendors for fundraising tools and initiatives, ensuring effective partnerships, communication, and deliverables
- Provides leadership and may exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
- Ensures unit data accuracy and security compliance
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We expect to pay high 50's to low 60's depending on qualifications and experience.
