About Us
What Is WPR?
Wisconsin Public Radio is a civic and cultural resource that exists to enlighten and enrich the quality of life for its listeners. WPR consists of 37 radio stations programmed by seven regional studios and carrying programming on three content networks - the Ideas Network, the NPR News and Classical Network and the All Classical Network. WPR's radio stations, studios, networks and online streams allow it to serve local, regional and statewide audiences with the highest quality programming available.
WPR also syndicates two weekly programs nationwide -- "To The Best Of Our Knowledge" and "Zorba Paster On Your Health." Beyond its broadcast offerings, WPR produces five websites, including WPR.org, that provide music, news and information to online audiences, as well as supporting iPhone, iPad and Android-friendly smartphone apps and more than a dozen social media sites.
Who Are We?
Since 1917, Wisconsin Public Radio has been a pioneer in radio broadcasting. Educating, informing and evoking thought have been at the forefront of WPR since its inception. WPR has grown its range to better serve the state of Wisconsin, and its three networks strive to accomplish that goal.
Local Presence
Strengthening Wisconsin's communities remains essential to WPR's mission. Regional offices located in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Wausau, La Crosse, Eau Claire and Superior bring listeners a daily conversation about Wisconsin. Local shows and reporters provide listeners with relevant programs and news in touch with their communities.
Our Broadcast Networks
The Ideas Network has been devoted to engaging the community through regional, statewide, and national shows since 1990 with topics ranging from current events, science, technology and pop culture.
The News and Classical Network focuses on the latest news from around the state and country, carrying programs such as "Morning Edition," "All Things Considered" and "Marketplace," plus 79 minutes of state and local news every weekday. Its classical programs include "Afternoon Classics," "The Midday" and "Sunday Brunch."
True classical music aficionados can listen to classical music 24 hours a day, all week, on WPR's All Classical Network.
