| Wash and peel apples. Cut in quarters and remove cores. Place in saucepan with water. Cover and cook until apples are tender, but not falling to pieces. Mix flour with 1/4 cup of the sugar, add to apples, and cook until thickened. Stir in remaining sugar, nutmeg, salt, and sour cream. Serve warm or cold. |
