Wisconsin Responds To Grand Jury Decision In Ferguson
The country saw protests from coast to coast this week after a St. Louis County grand jury decided Monday not to indict police officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed unarmed black teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri in August of this year.
The focus of the demonstrations has largely been the relationship between law enforcement and black communities.
Wisconsin has the highest rate of black male incarceration in the country at 13 percent, which is double the national average. There were rallies in Wisconsin on Tuesday in both Madison and Milwaukee. Two of the organizers of those rallies talk about how the conversation surrounding Michael Brown’s death relates to the state. Michael Johnson, the CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County, also joins them.
