2004 State Tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.
At noon, join us for the annual ceremony honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, live from the State Capitol. The ceremony is expected to last until one-thirty, when we will join Talk of the Nation in progress. Today's Chapter a Day will be heard tonight at 11pm and will also be available to listen to at anytime through our website.

We the People Supreme Court Debate
The two candidates running for State Supreme Court will answer citizen questions on a We the People debate tonight at seven. Ed Brunner and Pat Roggensack face each other in the April 1st election to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice William Bablitch. The We the People forum will be broadcast on Wisconsin Public Television and the Ideas Network of Wisconsin Public Radio. The debate will be archived on our website at wpr.org.

Governor Jim Doyle delivers his State of the State address tonight at seven and you can hear it live on the Ideas Network. State Government reporter Fredrica Freyberg anchors our coverage and will talk with legislators following the Governor's speech. (Tom Clark and Kathleen Dunn will host call-ins on the State of the State tomorrow on the Ideas Network.)

2003 Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The State's ceremony honoring the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.will be broadcast live starting at noon on the Ideas Network. Wisconsin Public Radio's Jonathan Overby will host the festivities in this annual tribute from the Capitol Rotunda. When the tribute ends after one-thirty, Ben Merens will host a follow-up call-in program, to talk with listeners about King's dream and the state of civil rights today. (Chapter a Day will not be heard today at twelve-thirty but will resume where the book left off tomorrow. The first hour of Talk of the Nation will also be pre-empted due to this special programming.)

Governor Doyle's Inauguration
At noon stay tuned as Governor-elect Jim Doyle is sworn into office. Our live coverage of the inauguration ceremony from the State Capitol will be anchored by Wisconsin Public Television's Jerry Huffman and is expected to last about an hour. Chapter a Day will not be heard today, but will resume where we left off tomorrow at twelve thirty.
