| The mining bill that passed the state Assembly is now heading to the legislature's Joint Finance Committee. The move comes after Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald on Wednesday disbanded the Select Committee on Mining. After seven, Joy Cardin's guest discusses the significance of the decision and what may happen next; after seven-thirty, her guest lawmaker weighs in with his reaction to the proceedings.
Guests:
- 7:00 - Mike Simonson, Wisconsin Public Radio reporter based in Superior; he's been covering the mining issue.
- 7:30 - Bob Jauch (JOWK), Democratic State Senator from Poplar whose district includes the location of the proposed iron ore mine; member of the dissolved Select Committee on Mining Jobs.
Note: Neal Kedzie, Republican State Senator from Elkhorn, declined our invitation to appear due to a scheduling conflict. |
