| Wisconsin is known for many things: cheese, beer, and the Packers, just to name a few. According to Joy Cardin's guest, after six, the state is also the center of effigy mound culture. He'll describe the mystery behind the mounds, and why it's important to learn about them.
Guest: Bob Birmingham, Lecturer of Anthology, UW-Waukesha. Former State Archaeologist. Author, "Spirits of the Earth: The Effigy Mound Landscape of Madison and the Four Lakes" and co-author, "Indian Mounds of Wisconsin." Recent article: http://wpr.org/r/?654 |
