Last week, 34 platinum miners in South Africa were killed when police opened fire on a wildcat strike. The London-based company that owns the mine threatened to dismiss any worker that did not return to work, and many miners await trial. The episode is one of the worst instances of state violence since apartheid ended in 1994. This hour, Kathleen Dunn and her guest talk about the incident, as well as the inequality, poverty, and disease that continue to plague South Africa. Once you click on the "Start Download Now" button below, the download dialog window may not appear for several seconds. Do NOT click on the button more than once or your download request may be refused.

When you start the download, several dialog boxes may appear on your screen:

If a "file download" box appears, simply click the "SAVE" button.
If a "Save-As" box appears, locate a folder where you want to save the MP3 program file and click "SAVE".
Some browsers will automatically save the file to a pre-determined location (often to your desktop or Documents folder).
A "Download Progress" box may appear showing the file downloading to your PC. When the download is completed, you may receive a final "Download Complete" indication. You can then CLOSE this dialog box.
Mac Users: iTunes may automatically launch and start playing the file after it's downloaded.
