| Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a day set aside to honor the civil rights leader. After five, join Ben Merens and his two guests as they discuss civil rights in the United States today, how far we've come, and what still needs to be done to ensure everyone has civil rights.
GUESTS: David Kairys is Professor Law at the Beasley School of Law at Temple University in Philadelphia. He is the author of Philadelphia Freedom: Memoir of a Civil Rights Lawyer.
Richard Kahlenberg is a Senior Fellow at The Century Foundation. He has written extensively about education, equal opportunity, and civil rights. He is the author of four books including The Remedy: Class, Race, and Affirmative Action. |
