Walker Prepares For Fundraising Trips, Reaffirms Commitment To Governorship

By

Governor Scott Walker won’t say he’s running for president, even as he prepares for fundraising trips to Iowa, Connecticut and New York City.

Walker says he’s still focused on being Governor and says the trips to other states don’t distract from his duties in Wisconsin.

“No, governors do that all the time no matter what their profile is in both parties. They go to Governor’s events. We do things here or there. Again, if you look at my schedule, many weekends we’re out doing things. It varies from day to day. But I think you look, we put a full schedule in every week, we continue to focus on it. We get out around the state quite a bit. We’re going to continue to do that.”

At least two national pundits have called Walker a top-tier candidate for President, although the latest Marquette University Poll shows he would lose a GOP primary to Congressman Paul Ryan and Senator Marco Rubio in his home state of Wisconsin.
