WPR's Madison Studios
The Madison offices and production studios of Wisconsin Public Radio are located at Vilas Communications Hall, 821 University Avenue on the UW-Madison campus. Madison is the main headquarters for the WPR Networks. For more information, call (608) 263-3970 or 800-747-7444.
If you're not in the Madison area, you can approach it from several directions including Interstates 90, 94 and 39 and State Highways 12, 14, 18 and 51. For more detailed directions, try Mapquest Maps.
The University of Wisconsin campus is just west of the State Capitol. You can approach it from the south on Park street, from the west on University Avenue then Johnson Street (one way), or from the east on Gorham Street then University Avenue (one way).
WPR's Vilas Communications Hall is located between University Avenue (one way westbound downtown), Johnson Street (one way eastbound), Park street and Lake Street. The huge University Square complex, still under construction, is on the east end of our "block". Parking is available every day in the Lake Street Ramp. On Sundays, most UW parking lots are open to the public. WPR is located on the 7th (top) floor of Vilas Hall.
From the street, you can only enter from the Park Street and University Avenue sides of the building. There is a ramp entrance on the north-west corner at Park St and University Avenue. You can also enter from the 4th floor plaza which is accessible by stairways or via a pedestrian bridge across University Avenue from the Humanities Building.
