The state's new law on how deaths in police custody are investigated won't change the way departments in smaller towns operate -- they already call in outside investigators in such cases. The same won't be true for cities like Madison and Milwaukee.

La Crosse may soon join 20 other Wisconsin communities that have a “social host” ordinance – a law that hold adults accountable for providing a location for underage drinking, even if they don’t provide alcohol.
