State Patrol Identifies Trooper Killed In Shootout

Trevor Casper, 21, Had Only Recently Graduated From The Patrol Academy

The State Patrol has released the name of the trooper who was killed in Fond Du Lac during a shootout with an alleged bank robber last night.

The Trooper was Trevor Casper, a 21-year-old who had just graduated from the State Patrol Academy in December. Casper died in a shootout with a suspected bank robber and carjacker.

The suspect, who has not been identified, may have robbed another bank in the village of Wausaukee, two hours north of Fond Du Lac.

A third man was found dead in Marinette County near a truck which is thought to have been used in the Wausaukee incident. Authorities say he may have been the victim of a carjacking.

Four years ago, a Fond Du Lac police officer was also fatally shot in the line of duty.

Funeral services for Casper have not been announced.
