Spectrum West featured pianist and music teacher Nick Phillips talking about his new CD, American Vernacular: New Music for Solo Piano. Ross then welcomed Alan Grostephan, UW-Eau Claire Alumni who is back for the Blugold Visiting Writer Series. Grostephan talked about his highly praised book, Bogota. Spectrum West also provided a preview of the Septmeber 19 press conference on The Confluence Project, which supports building an arts/civic center in Downtown Eau Claire. Special Correspondent Jim Oliver interviewed playwrights Jim and Jane Jefferies who hosted a Comedy Faire, which is a series of three, one-act plays in one night. The September 20-21 event was also a benefit for Teamwork Africa, which digs wells and builds schools in Liberia.
