Wausau Center Mall - Tipple, Schock, Craig

This Thursday, November 5th at 10 am, Wisconsin Public Radio’s Route 51 focuses on the Wausau Center Mall and an ambitious proposal to revive it.

Host Glen Moberg will moderate a discussion with Wausau Mayor Jim Tipple, Wausau Economic Development Manager Christian Schock, and Mark Craig, General Manager of Compass Properties, former candidate for Wausau Mayor, and former Manager of the Wausau Center Mall.

Under the proposal, mall owner CBL and Associates Properties would receive a $4.1 million dollar loan, which would allow Younkers to move to the space vacated by JC Penney. The Wausau Center Mall is the only retail mall within nearly 100 miles of the Wausau trade area. It generates about $240,000 in sales tax revenue each year for Marathon County.
