Norman will welcome classical guitarist Nathan Wysock and violinist Laura Burns to WPR’s performance studio. They will be performing a faculty recital at Edgewood College in Madison on February 8, 2015.
Mr. Wysock holds Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from Illinois State University. He is on the music faculty at Lawrence University in Appleton and is a senior music instructor at Edgewood College in Madison.
Ms. Burns is a member of the Madison Symphony Orchestra, where she also performs with the Rhapsodie String Quartet and the Quartessence String Quartet.
Together they perform the Fantasie and Rondeau movements from Bach’s Suite in A major as arranged by Silvius Leopold Weiss. Mr. Wysock then plays the Sarabonde movement and together they complete the suite with the Minuet. Then they perform two movements from the Sonatina by Croatian composer Miroslav Miletic. Finally, they perform two “Mountain Songs” by Robert Beaser, He’s Gone Away and Hush You Bye.
