Norman welcomes cellist Madeleine Kabat to WPR’s performance studio in Madison. She is a cellist with the Madison Symphony Orchestra. Kabat started playing cello at age 11, made her solo debut with the Cleveland Orchestra at age 18 and holds diplomas from the Cleveland Institute of Music, Rice University, and Juilliard.

She performs Allemande from Bach’s Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello, the first movement from Cassadó’s Suite for Solo Cello, portions of Dvořák’s Cello Concerto and Prokofiev’s Cello Concerto. She ends her studio performance with the first movement from Kodály’s Sonata for Solo Cello.
