This week we welcome jazz singer extraordinaire and Stellar recording artist Janet Planet. Planet was hailed by Jazziz Magazine as a “voice of the New Jazz Culture… amazingly powerful with seemingly limitless expression.” We will listen to selections from her 24th release, a new CD entitled “Of Thee I Sing”, featuring fresh arrangements of great American songs celebrating the sites, cities and landscapes of the United States. Planet’s long recording and performance career in her home state of Wisconsin results in live performances that are frequently standing room only. The Route 51 program will offer her many regional fans a rare chance to connect with her directly with live on-air phone calls.
