On Thursday, December 11th at 10 am, Wisconsin Public Radio’s Route 51 features a conversation on the country’s racial divide with two African American leaders with roots in North Central Wisconsin. Host Glen Moberg will moderate a discussion with Joseph Lewis Johnson, author of Nobody: Perseverance of a Sharecropper’s Son, and public policy analyst and instructor Darryl Mayfield. Johnson’s book details his experience growing up in the segregated south, and living in Chicago, Oakland, Madison and Wausau. Mayfield is a resident of Mosinee who teaches courses on public administration, public budgeting and diversity at Upper Iowa University.
