Nashville recording artist and central Wisconsin native Jerry Schmitt returns to Wisconsin Public Radio’s Route 51 for an hour of lively conversation and live music.

Glen Moberg will play selections from Schmitt’s latest CD, Wishful Thinking, which is a tribute to some of his favorite songs and traditional country artists. Schmitt will also perform live on the air during the program. Schmitt and his 100 Miles Band have opened for numerous national acts, including Joe Nichols, Lee Brice, Lorrie Morgan, and Merle Haggard. Schmitt grew up in Stratford, Wisconsin. In 2015, his composition I Don’t Hurt As Much As I Used To became a No. 1 hit on the Country Roots Chart.
