Benjamin Skroch with Chan Mi Jean

Trombonist Benjamin Skroch and piano accompanist Chan Mi Jean perform live in the WPR studios.

Benjamin Skroch has a Masters in Music from the University of Minnesota and is currently 2nd Trombone with the Madison Symphony Orchestra. In his spare time, he’s also an expert canoe builder. Chan Mi Jean is an award-winning pianist who graduated from Asbury University in Kentucky, attended Indiana University and is now a doctoral candidate at the UW-Madison.

They perform the first movement from the Trombone Concerto by Danish composer Launy Grøndahl, Meditation from the opera “Thais” by Jules Massenet, the third movement from the Sonatina for Trombone and Piano by French composer Jacques Castérède, and Cavatine for Trombone and Piano op. 144 by Camille Saint-Saëns. Mr. Skroch plays a Fantasie for Unaccompanied Trombone by Telemann, and finally they end with the last movement from the Trombone Concerto by Grøndahl.
