U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-La Crosse, said a federal court ruling now blocking President Barack Obama’s executive actions on immigration reform is a “short-term battle” over a “short-term fix.”

Kind called the federal court injunction blocking the president’s executive actions an example of Republicans finding fault with an immigration plan instead of coming up with their own. Kind said the lawsuit and the executive actions wouldn’t have happened if Congress had passed immigration reform.

“If they don’t like what the president is proposing, then come up with your own proposal. But don’t just sit back and sue or point a finger, because that doesn’t solve any problems,” said Kind.

The State of Texas brought the lawsuit against the Obama administration. Since then, 26 states, including Wisconsin, have signed on.
