Rep. Duffy Says No To Dems’ Assault Weapons Ban

By

Congressional Democrats unveiled their gun control proposal Thursday, (1/24) including reinstating the assault weapon ban that lapsed in 2004.

But at a town hall meeting Thursday (1/24) in Superior, Republican Congressman Sean Duffy says he won’t vote for a bill limiting firearms, including assault rifles: “I’m willing to look at what the President put out. If the Senate’s going to take action, we’ll look at that too, but in regard to limiting access to the current law for guns and law-abiding citizens, no.”

Duffy says the Democratic legislation would violate the right to bear arms.
