Met Opera Radio Broadcasts Return
to Milwaukee on WHAD HD

The passion, love, music and drama of the Metropolitan Opera will return to Milwaukee airwaves on 90.7-2, WHAD-HD Radio. The Live from the Met broadcasts begin December 12 as part of WPR Classical, the 24/7 HD Radio classical music network, also available online at www.wpr.org.

The 2009-2010 Saturday matinees from New York City’s Metropolitan Opera are the longest-running continuous classical program in radio history. The 79th season kicks off with Puccini’s II Trittico, starring Patricia Racette and Stephanie Blythe and conducted by Stefano Ranzani. Twenty-two broadcasts will be presented through May 8. Margaret Juntwait returns as the series host for her sixth season, joined by commentator Ira Siff.

Listeners in the Greater Milwaukee Area wishing to hear the Met Opera broadcasts and other programming over the air from WPR Classical may do so by using an HD Radio. More details, including locations where HD Radios may be purchased in southeastern Wisconsin are available at www.wpr.org/HD.
