Most of the people who attended a public hearing on Thursday regarding a rate change proposed by the utility Madison Gas & Electric were mostly critical of the plan, saying that it would disincentivize customers to install solar panels and raise costs for people trying to conserve electricity.

First lady Michelle Obama joined Democratic candidate for governor Mary Burke on Monday for a campaign rally in Madison, where she emphasized that voter turnout would be key to a Burke victory in November.
