La Crosse is one of the latest communities that want to train child care facilities to become “breastfeeding friendly.” The county has outlined 10 steps that such centers can take to create more comfortable environments for mothers to breastfeed.

The police chief of the town of Campbell made his first appearance in a La Crosse County Court on Thursday after submitting a tea party member's name and address to dating and gay porn sites, and on healthcare.gov.

Thursday marks the first day of the new school year at Hamilton Elementary school in La Crosse — a school that, along with a handful of other districts in the state, operates on a year-round academic calendar.
