Welcome to Green Bay's Volunteer Group!!

One of the most important building blocks of Wisconsin Public Radio is the public! Without the public's awareness, engagement, and support, WPR could not maintain the impressive level of success it has achieved. Wisconsin Public Radio has lots of opportunities for listeners to get their hands dirty. But, first, we need to know you would like to help.

357 volunteer hours logged in 2008.

Past Events...

Arti Gras February 2008
The first weekend in February was a chance to celebrate as Wisconsin Public Radio hosted a table again at Arti Gras! Volunteers were at this two day arts festival all weekend and took the chance to share the joy of WPR with everyone they could!

Our wonderful volunteers (including regional host Michael Brown on the left) pose for a picture

Whad'ya Know? October 2007
On October 20th, Michael Feldman was in Sheboygan for a live broadcast of his show "Whad'ya Know?". Volunteers were at the show to help with its production, and had tons of fun!

Michael Feldmen interviews Ruth Kohler of the Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan.

Ben Marens Live 2007
The 2007 Ben Merens live broadcast at Heritage Hill State Park brought many WPR listeners together, including several new volunteers, WPRA board members, and WPR staff from around the state.

An audience member asks Ben Merens' expert guests a question during his tour stop in Green Bay.

ArtStreet 2007
Wisconsin Public Radio had a great weekend at Artstreet in August 2006. The weekend was full of WPR activities including a live broadcast of “Higher Ground with Jonathan Overby” on Saturday night, an information table located along “Cultural Street,” and music events all day Sunday at the Meyer Theatre. We met a lot of great listeners and had a great time at Northeast Wisconsin’s largest arts festival.

Higher Ground Live Broadcast

A Native American dancer performed in traditional dress while Strong Medicine performed on “Higher Ground with Jonathan Overby.”

Two of our fantastic volunteers handled tickets for the “Higher Ground” live broadcast. Thanks for your help.

Richie Plass spoke with WPR listeners about Kalihwiyo’se, the Thursday night Native American show he hosts with Chris Powless. Craig Turner was also on hand to discuss Jazz.

Thank You All Who Have Volunteered!
In the past year, Wisconsin Public Radio traveled throughout the Northeast region. Remember the Ben Merens' tour stop at Heritage Hill State Park? What about the "A Prairie Home Companion Movie" preview? Did you see us in Door County at Bjorklunden? These events would not have been possible without the help of outstanding volunteers like you.
