RadioLab

"RadioLab" is a show about curiosity, where sound illuminates ideas. Each hour, hosts Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich blur the boundaries between science, philosophy, and human experience. "RadioLab" can be heard on the Ideas Network Saturdays at 3 p.m.

Riverwalk Jazz

On Friday nights "Riverwalk Jazz" tells the story of jazz in America, ranging from turn-of-the-century blues and cakewalks, to swing of the 1920s and '30s. Hosted by the storyteller David Holt and bandleader Jim Cullum, "Riverwalk Jazz" features the Jim Cullum Jazz Band and special guest artists. The program can be heard on the NPR News and Classical Music Network Fridays at 9 p.m.

Route 51

"Route 51" is a regional talk show hosted by Glen Moberg focusing on issues important to the north central Wisconsin area, as well as featuring regional music, culture, and arts. Topics include proposed legislation, sustainability, health care, economics, agriculture, and the justice system.

Says You!

"Says You!" is a panel radio show produced in Boston. Created by host and producer Richard Sher, the show boasts of being “a game of bluff and bluster, words and whimsy." It is produced and distributed by Pipit & Finch in the U.S. "Says You!" can be heard on the Ideas Network Sundays from 8 to 9 a.m.

Science Friday

"Science Friday" is a weekly science talk show hosted by veteran journalist Ira Flatow. Each week the show focuses on science topics in the news and discusses the issues in an educated and balanced way. Panels of experts join Flatow to provide their insights and take question questions from listeners. "Science Friday" can be heard Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m.

Simply Folk

On the air since 1979, "Simply Folk" brings listeners songs for the seasons, live interviews, podcasts, and concerts recorded in Wisconsin.

Host Stephanie Elkins plays a wide variety of music, including Americana, traditional folk, roots, bluegrass, Celtic and Nordic, traditional blues, singer-songwriter, Wisconsin-based, and new releases. "Simply Folk" can be heard Sunday evenings on the Ideas and NPR News and Classical networks from 5 to 8 p.m.

Snap Judgment

Host Glynn Washington shares intriguing stories about the defining moments in people's lives. "Snap Judgement's" raw, intimate, and musical brand of storytelling drops listeners into the heart of the story, providing a glimpse of the world through another's eyes. The lush soundscapes, Deeja-driven music, and fast paced narrative highlight people from around the world and the moments when they put everything on the line.

Spectrum West with Al Ross

"Spectrum West" is a weekly program exploring the music, arts, and humanities in western Wisconsin. The show includes in-depth behind-the-scenes interviews and stories about area writers, musicians, theater, visual arts, and much more. It is heard weekly on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Ideas 88.3 WHWC-FM/Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7 WRFW-FM/River Falls, with a repeat broadcast at 7 p.m. Fridays on 89.7 WUEC-FM/ Eau Claire and 90.7 WVSS-FM/ Menomonie.

Sunday Afternoon Live from the Chazen

Lori Skelton hosts a series of live chamber concerts performed by Wisconsin musicians in the Chazen Museum's Brittingham Gallery III.

"Sunday Afternoon Live from the Chazen" can be heard from September through May, Sundays on NPR News and Classical network from 12:30 to 2 p.m. or live in person; admission is free and seating is availible on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sunday Brunch

"Sunday Brunch" presents classical music encompassing all genres and ensembles. The program includes short works and excerpts from longer pieces amoung other selections all performed by classically trained artists.

The music is chosen with a relaxed Sunday morning audience in mind and can be heard on the NPR News and Classical network from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

TED Radio Hour

"TED Radio Hour" is a journey through fascinating ideas, astonishing inventions and new ways to think and create. Each episode includes riveting excerpts from the renowned TED stage where some of the world's deepest thinkers and innovators are invited to give the 18-minute "talk of their lives." The "TED Radio Hour" team takes the most compelling talks and organizes them around a common theme.

Tent Show Radio

"Tent Show Radio" showcases a variety of live performances from Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua in Bayfield, Wisconsin. Hosted by Michael Perry, the program features regional and national acts with regular contributions by the Big Top's Blue Canvas Orchestra. "Tent Show Radio" can be heard on the Ideas Network Saturdays at 7 p.m.

The Joy Cardin Show

Every weekday from 6 to 9 a.m. on the Ideas Network stations, listeners can hear Joy Cardin talking with a wide variety of guests about issues that matter -- from politics to popular culture.

Joy's producers Bill Martens, Robyn Cherry, and Christie Taylor look for knowledgeable guests from different perspectives on state, national and international news and lifestyle topics like healthy living, travel and recreation.

The Kathleen Dunn Show

Focused on leading balanced discussions about the issues of the day and those of our time, "The Kathleen Dunn Show" airs Monday through Thursday, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the Ideas Network stations.

Dunn and her producers, Rhonda Fanning and KP Whaley, strive to be as timely as possible when choosing topics and guests. The immediacy of the show has attracted many loyal listeners who seek in-depth discussions that go beyond the headlines.

The Larry Meiller Show

Join host Larry Meiller every weekday morning from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on WPR's Ideas Network stations as he discusses environmental and consumer issues, gardening and helpful "how-to" topics with his guests. Tune in to an encore broadcast of "Garden Talk" every Saturday mornings at 7 a.m.

The Metropolitan Opera

For more than 80 years, live radio broadcasts from "The Metropolitan Opera" have been a Saturday tradition in many American households. Host Margaret Juntwait and commentator Ira Siff return for another season. "The Metropolitan Opera" can be heard from December through May.

The Midday

Host Norman Gilliland provides listeners with a wide variety of classical music, presents a story from "Grace Notes," and holds the popular "Midday Quiz."

Musicians traveling through Wisconsin often stop by the studio for live performances, discussions about their most recent works, and upcoming shows. "The Midday" can be heard weekdays on the NPR News and Classical network and All Classical network from 12 to 1 p.m.

The Moth Radio Hour

"The Moth Radio Hour" is an acclaimed, not-for-profit program dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. It’s a celebration of both the raconteur, who breathes fire into true tales of ordinary life, and the storytelling novice, who has lived through something extraordinary and yearns to share it. "The Moth Radio Hour" can be heard on the Ideas Network Fridays from 9 to 10pm.

The Odyssey Series

The Odyssey Series is produced and narrated by Dr. Jonathan Overby. They air on the News & Classical Music Network every Saturday at 10am. The Odyssey Series explores music the world over and its power to create greater understanding of those near and far.

The People’s Pharmacy

"The People's Pharmacy" is a source for health information: from breaking news on drugs to the top health headlines of the week, information on alternative therapies to using herbs and home remedies for common ailments. The show aims to help listeners become their own best health advocate. "The People's Pharmacy" can be heard on the Ideas Network Saturdays from 6 to 7 a.m. and again from 2 to 3 p.m.

The West Side with Rich Kremer

"The West Side" is a call-in program focused on issues specific to western Wisconsin. The show airs on Mondays at 10 a.m. on 88.3 WHWC-FM/ Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7 WRFW-FM/ River Falls. Listeners may call in with questions and comments during the program.

The Whad'Ya Know Radio Hour

"The Whad'Ya Know Radio Hour" takes the best bits of "Michael Feldma's Whad'Ya Know" and packs them into one hour. Listen to Michael talk to audience members, interview guests, and play the famous Whad'Ya Know Quiz. "The Whad'Ya Know Radio Hour" can be heard on Wisconsin Public Radio Sundays on the Ideas Network at 11 a.m. and Saturdays on NPR News and Classical at 9 a.m.

This American Life

Each episode of "This American Life" explores a theme through a variety of true stories from everyday people, short stories from authors, and research from experts and journalists. The drama found in everyday life, presented by host Ira Glass, is thoughtful, touching, and emotional. "This American Life" can be heard on the Ideas Network Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

To the Best of Our Knowledge

"To the Best of Our Knowledge" is a nationally-syndicated radio show that cracks open the world and the ideas that fuel its engine. The show airs two hours a week, each revolving around a theme. Some themes are big, like: Are Humans Innately Good? Others go micro, like Revenge of the Nerds. Once we pick the theme, we dig in with interviews that explore the culture, the debate, the stories, the science and the actual sound of it all.

University of the Air

Hosts Norman Gilliland and Emily Auerbach invite distinguished faculty guests from the University of Wisconsin-Madison to discuss topics in music, art, writing, theater, science, education, and history. "University of the Air" can be heard on Sundays at 4 p.m.

Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!

"Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!” is NPR's weekly hour-long quiz program. Each week on the radio, listeners can test their knowledge against some of the best and brightest in the news and entertainment world while figuring out what's real news and what's made up. "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" can be heard on the Ideas Network Saturdays at 9 a.m. and Sundays at 12 p.m.

Weekend Edition - Saturday

"Weekend Edition -- Satuday" wraps up the week’s news and offers a mix of analysis and features a wide range of topics, including arts, sports, entertainment, and human interest stories. The two-hour is hosted by NPR's Peabody Award-winnning Scott Simon. "Weekend Edition -- Saturday" can be heard on the NPR News & Classical Music Network Saturdays at 7 a.m.
